  1. So sorry to hear of your eye troubles, Kate. I wish you well and hope you are back to yourself soon.

My Tom has a serious eye condition right now, diabetic retinonapthy, a problem that has reared its head after a 20 year grace period, so, I understand and wish you well. Penny

  2. so sorry to hear your eyes are not right, that’s very scary. it was delightful to hear your note, if annoying that this should happen to you

get your eyes better soon, that’s an ORDER

  3. Crikey, Kate. You don’t do things by halves, do you?
Have you been to all the right diagnostic places? Getting all the right treatment?
All sorts of diagnosis names are flashing through my mind. I look forward to fearing all visual problems are completely temporary. I will keep fingers crossed/. Hope someone’s going to read out these responses to you .

    Take care.

    1. CHeers Pseu… Recurrent corneal abrasion, apparently….like a scab falling off a knee, so no cause for concern, just a bit painful 🙂 And taking a very long time to go away . Eye clinic , 9:15 tomorrow !

      1. Corneal abrasion… nasty painful things.

I have nocturnal dry eye and have to put oink-ment in every evening to stop lid sticking to cornea, so I do understand. Wish you quick recovery. xx

  4. Kate! “Corneal abrasion” has to be one of the worst terms I’ve ever heard because it definitely communicates how much pain you must have been in. I’m glad to hear you can see again. What a scare. I hope you heal quickly. I’ll keep you in my thoughts, friend. Be well.

  5. Ah, Kate, how wonderful to hear your gorgeous voice! So glad to know that your eyes are recovered and that you’ve returned to us already. Hats off to you for your techno savvy, and for being such a persevering “audio reader”!

    1. I’m afraid I could talk until the cows come home and long afterwards, Naomi. I used to get told off for it at school and I’m not much better now. However, it came in handy. I fell in love with audioboo: I’m looking at reading a whole book onto a sound file now and leaving it for download as a sort of carrot to the site. We’ll see how that turns out…

  6. Yikes! No eyesight, no blogging, no reading posts! A truly dark day– so glad it’s over. Maybe one of these days you can read us one of your posts on audioboo… What a fun site. Take care of those eyes.

    1. Thanks Zoe 🙂 I did wonder about reading the posts once I had written them. Much easier to listen than to wade through all those words on a screen…the jury’s out.

      Lovely to hear you!

  7. Have just returned from a trip abroad and was sorry to learn about your eyesight. What a very frightening thing to happen, but pleased to learn that you are on the mend. Take care.

    1. Rosemary, thank you so much for that lovely message. It ‘s almost healed now- I hope to be driving next week. Hope your trip abroad was productive and enjoyable 🙂
