Poetic Dad

Laydeez and gennlemen: the moment for which you have all been waiting.

My Dad has finally opened a blog.

You can find him, and his poetry, atย http://johnell74.wordpress.com/.

Enjoy. I’m ‘avin’ a night off. Nothing like dropping aitches for giggles on the eve of a bank holiday. Off to play Scrabble with Phil.

  1. I want to play Scrabble with you! ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t follow poetry blogs . . . but I’ll go pay your dad a quick visit to welcome him to the blogosphere.

      1. The Scrabble dictionary is far more expansive ~ so I feel OK not knowing “Scrabble words” that aren’t in my trusty Merriam-Webster.

  2. Just left your dad a comment on his poem, Thanksgiving, and enjoyed the rest as well and hope he continues to post.

Will you and Phil be playing Scrabble without the ‘aitches? Could be especially interestin’

    1. Thanks for visiting, Penny ๐Ÿ™‚ Aitches stay in scrabble I’m afraid…I’m doing dismally. You should see some of the words on the board: it makes me wonder if the Scrabble official dictionary originated on another planet….

  3. Hurray for your Dad – I think he’ll be glad he took the plunge!

I like Scrabble, though I admit to liking it better in the days before Scrabble Dictionary… I could win more often then. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. The weirdest words get through, don’t they, Ruth? I’d love literary artistry to be at the centre of the game but a fear one just has to be a wily wordsmith to win.
I’m playing again tonight. And losing. Curses.

  4. Hi Kate

I think you meant to leave the comment re your Dad’s blog link for Adeeyoyo โ€“ I didnโ€™t have any problems finding your Dadโ€™s blog.

    Thx
