A very small supplementary post to enlist the help of regular Shrewsday readers: today, you could make my day….
So: I’ve managed to wangle my way onto the UK’s Huffington Post blogging team, but I’m a tiny spratt among great big mackerel, playing Billy-No-Mates in the cybercorner.
I was wondering if any of you kind people might help me by following the link to the post that’s there: it’s that one about having a picnic where Wells once sited his Martian landing, near Woking.
A spoonful of comments make the medicine go down, so anyone who felt like humouring me could leave one and maybe even ‘like’ it a little.
Meanwhile, I have a Twitter monologue where, after weeks of boring my two followers rigid with church updates, I have worked out how to stop these. Now I just have to work out how to be witty in 120 characters.
As of now I have a colossal four followers, one of whom is the incredible Naomi Estment: Naomi, a cyberfriend on whom I have never set eyes, is my one-woman cheerleading team on Huff right now. From the bottom of my heart, Naomi, thank you.
Hope to see a few of you over there, and even spark a little Shrewsday-type chat on Adriana’s little cyberisland here in the UK.
You can find the link here.
Congrats on your new Cyber post.
I don’t Twitter (or Tweet) so I can’t join that particular cheering squad. 😀
No matter Nancy. This is home to me. Speaking candidly I have never really ‘got’ Twitter….thanks for those words.
Against all odds, I managed to start a HP account, and write and “post” a comment . . . but I just checked and can’t see my comment (or any other comment either).
I’ll Huff and I’ll Puff and I’ll try again soon. 😀
It’s there, Nancy, and very much appreciated 🙂 Thanks!
I would do but a message came back telling me I have been banned from commenting….
… it worked the second time 🙂
Yay!
Not sure they’ve ironed all the technical glitches out yet, what with wrong pictures and all sorts, Pseu! Thanks for trying…
I can’t even get on it. I’ll try again tomorrow.
Well done!!
Cheers Tilly 😀
Congrats on the Huff gig, Kate, Off to find you on Twitter.
Cheers Cindy 🙂
Congrats, Kate – I don’t twitter but will take a look at the link.
Thanks BB 🙂
whew! Glad to see others are having such trouble. I did open an account but for the life of me, can’t figure out the password. I want to leave a comment – really! Did begin following you on Twitter.
Thanks Tammy….the technology on Huff seems to be quite a barrier! Sorry you’ve had a time of it! Thanks for having a go, Tammy.
Hi Kate – well done – can’t seem to work the technology either. Don’t want to set up a facebook account and don’t understand Twitter… I have enough trouble keeping up with my blog and the few blogs I follow…
I know what you mean, I don’t get Twitter either, hence my two followers 😀 Thanks for giving it a go, Earlybird. Sorry about Huff’s technological inaccessibility…
LOL…you’re so welcome, Kate, thanks for appreciating! I must agree that the Huff makes it hard to comment 😀 As for Twitter, remember that you have 140 characters – a precious extra 20!
Thanks, I’ll bear it in mind. Time to go off and practice-and thanks for the retweet. My first 😀
Wonderful to see your words even more accessible to others. Lovely post on Huffington- your unique style shines through brilliantly.
(I’m not on Twitter, etc. so was not able to ‘Like’- though I did very much like the post!)
No problems Zoe, thanks for going to take a look. It sounds like even reading it when you access from some parts of the world is a challenge! Thanks for those words. I’m finding the second post is more of a challenge than the first!
Hi Kate, wonderful article. Great how you kept referring to it as the place where nothing happened, very tongue in cheek. I did give you a thumbs up, but did not leave a post as it would have required opening an account and just didn’t want to do that. Sorry.
Kathy, thanks so much for taking a look! I do appreciate it, especially as the site does not seem to be particularly accessible. Must alert Adriana 😀
