The Cinderella Tree – the audio version

The Cnderella Tree always works best out loud: to this end I have popped it on a couple of audioboos. If you’d like to hear it read by someone unsettlingly like Mary Poppins, click

here for part 1

and

here for part 2

Many thanks.

      1. 😀 You would not believe the number of takes it took to get just over five minutes, Nancy! The cat walked in squawking, the dog woofed, the iphone pinged and I fluffed lines…what a pallaver….

  1. A good read, Kate! Thank you. Did I recognise the dog who smelt suspiciously like a barnyard (or something like that) ?!

  2. The words ‘cor’ and ‘blimey’ spring to mind. I was aware that you’d been a journalist, but I never knew you were an actress too. And what inflection too. And as regards your diction – Helena Bonham-Carter’s got nothing on you. You are perfect for writing and reading audio books. If I hadn’t been sitting down when I heard this, I think I might have fallen over. You make me sound like I have a mouth full of cotton wool in comparison. I’m certainly going to have to raise my game from now on. Have the offers of voice offer work begun flooding in yet? They should have. I prostrate myself before thee.

    1. Now I’m blushing. But in a very actressy way indeed 😀 Thanks Tooty. I shall print out your comment and stick it on my fridge for future self-esteem-boosting. Watch my head grow exponentially.
